Monsters: Bloodscales

This is the first time I've tried to write a race for D&D, so if you see something that needs tweaking, go ahead and tell me about it.

Bloodscales are a small reptilian race, covered in glossy scales that range from deep brown to ruby red (markings vary per individual). Three rows of three short black horns grow from their heads, and black claws tip their fingers and toes. Bloodscales have well-developed infravision, with a 90' range. They live in forested areas, although their actual living/sleeping/hiding children space is underground, with family or bachelor burrows in a well-guarded tunnel complex.

Accomplished herbalists, Bloodscales trade dried herbs and herbal conconctions to other peoples, and also felted fabrics, sueded leather, and intricately carved figurines and musical instruments crafted from wood or stone. They are generally musically inclined, with most festivals and rituals requiring singing. As each Bloodscale has two simultaneous voices, sometimes multiple octaves in the difference, this can be an interesting phenomenon for visitors to observe.

Bloodscales encountered away from their homes are likely to be guard patrols, traders, or herb-gathering expeditions. Their society is religiously organized, and so their lair (called an "enclave") will be lead by a high priestess called The Daughter of the Stone Eye (shaman 2-6), who may be attended by up to 2 acolytes (shaman 1-2) and 4-7 guards (fighter 1). As long as this leader is alive, the Bloodscales have a Morale of 9; if she is killed, it drops to 7.

Weird/particular treasures: Bloodscales like to adorn themselves with decorative caps over their claws on special occasions. These can be made from any precious material, and they are more likely to have these enchanted than to have magic rings.
